Express entry

EXPRESS ENTRY

The Canadian government introduced the Express Entry system in 2015 – it is a selection system implemented by the Government which is meant to expedite the application processes for various Immigration Programs; under the express entry, applications are submitted electronically resulting in fast processing times and more accuracy in the collection of documents.

.Please see below a list of programs supported by the Express Entry:

  • Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSW)
  • Federal Skilled Trades class (FSTC)
  • Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
  • Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP)

NOC or National Occupation Classification is a list of all the classified jobs under four main categories based on skill level and skill type such as:

  • Skill Type 0: Managerial positions
  • Skill Level A: Expert jobs - require a degree from a recognized university.
  • Skill Level B: Skilled Trades and Technical skills - require either a college diploma or training
  • Skill Level C: Intermediate Skill level - requires high-school or job-specific training
  • Skill Level D: Skill Level D – low skilled labour, on-site training.

CLB or Canadian Language Benchmark tests the applicant's language skills on four levels i.e., writing, reading, speaking, and listening in French or English.

How to Apply for Express Entry?

Follow these steps to apply for Express Entry to Canada.

●  Check your eligibility

Check whether you are eligible for one of the offered economic programs or not.

●  Prepare the necessary documents

After checking your eligibility for one of the Express Entry economic programs, prepare all the necessary documents that include:

  • Your passport/travel document,
  • Your language test results,
  • Your education credential evaluation report (WES Canada)
  • Your regional nomination certificate, if any, and
  • Your written job offer from a Canadian employer, if any.

Once you get an Invitation to apply, the blow list of documents will be required:

  • Medical examination documents
  • Proof of funds (except Canadian Experience Class applicants),
  • Police clearance

●  Submit your profile

After entering all the required information on your Express Entry profile, you will be added to the IRCC pool of candidates. Based on your information, you’ll be ranked on Express Entry's point-based system.

●  Get an invitation and apply for permanent residence

The candidates with the highest scores in the Express Entry pool will receive an invitation to apply for permanent residence in Canada after selection. 

Express Entry Processing Time

Generally, Express Entry takes approximately six months, depending on the number of applications being processed. Though, upon receiving an invitation, you get 60 days to apply for your permanent residence.
